Vegemite has launched a new product, called Blend 17, which it promises is bolder and richer than traditional Vegemite, and comes with a shiny, gold label.
"Introducing our 2017 Special Edition Vegemite Blend 17," the company says.
"Vegemite Blend 17 has been crafted for a richer Vegemite experience with a bolder finish."
The press release goes on to say that the new version is in stores "for a limited time", and suggests that it makes the "perfect gift or stocking filler for the Vegemite lover this Christmas".
It's a bold move following Vegemite's disastrous, which was launched (and then dumped) in 2009 to ridicule and general disapproval.
And Blend 17 is not just richer in taste. The new spread reportedly costs $6.99 for a 150g jar, compared to just $3.63 for 150g of normal Vegemite. Some have labelled it .
People have been reviewing the taste of Blend 17 on social media.
Others have been poking fun at the slick design of Blend 17.
And some just weren't having it. At all.
