Monday, November 13 might seem like an ordinary day but for Londoners, it will be ramped up with a haloumi-themed pop-up restaurant set to open its doors. We repeat, haloumi!
Yes, the cheese we all know and love is being celebrated. The is launching this cheesy spectacle at as a way of enticing people to visit their island and what better than through food and in particular their national cheese, haloumi - smart!
Hoxton's executive chef Francis Puyat has devised a 5-course haloumi extravaganza featuring both savoury and sweet dishes; the menu is set to include haloumi and cauliflower fritters with lime pickle yoghurt, chargrilled haloumi flatbread with butternut and dukkah spice, grilled zucchini and haloumi salad with fennel, pine nuts, harissa, honey and lemon, crumbed haloumi fingers with a tomato chilli jam...
... and while it might sound odd, there's even a haloumi ice cream to tap into those dessert-feels.
While you can order dishes individually at your leisure, you can also sit back and let the £26 (AUD$45) shared platter, for two, do all the talking and you can wash it all down with Cypriot-inspired cocktails, including harissa Bloody Marys and coriander and ginger martinis.

If you aren't sure just how popular this has already been, one - it's haloumi, of course it's going to be good; and two, on October 27 they shared on their event page that they had already hit more than 1000 dinner bookings, so they've opened up lunchtime bookings to keep up with the hot demand.
