It’s that time of year once again where Hyde Park fills its grounds with bright lanterns, dancing dragons and sizzling food stalls – all alfresco. For almost three weeks, starting this Thursday, the hugely popular Good Food Month’s Night Noodle Markets presents 40 stalls serving up street food as well as custom and exclusive one-off dessert creations from some of the city’s finest sweet spots.

It’s a free event and to minimise queue times, the markets will once again be cash-free and run each night from Thursday October 5 until Sunday October 22.

Dumplings and noodles are just the beginning of what’s on offer. You can expect to find , and as well as several new stall debuts with , serving hand-pulled noodle bowls topped with rich five-spice beef broth and beef brisket, as well as creating their modern take on an Southern Indian dosa. Fill up on Peking duck fries from , Asian wings from , are back again with their Filipino BBQ menu and oversized meat skewers (just follow the smoke!). Moving onto something sweet, you’ll find fluffy soufflé pancakes from last year’s cakers , cookie shots cupping your matcha, Nutella and red velvet latte flavours from and our obsession for desserts on sticks continues with house-made waffles and Violet Crumble ice-cream.

Roll up your sleeves as presents their very own Japanese Gameshow – a selection of sesame, green tea and Japanese cheesecake and cherry blossom sundaes as well as their “deep-fried ninja”, which looks like a katsu sandwich but is anything but. Think lime cheesecake gelato wrapped in red velvet cake sandwiched between two slices of fresh white bread. And if you adored strawberry watermelon cake, the pastry extraordinaire are back at it and once again hoping to tap into summertime with the launch of their bright mango and sago cake.
While this mention only whets the appetite for what you can expect, be sure to get in early to beat the crowds and choose wisely (or choose it all: #nojudgement).

And don’t worry Melburnians; you’re up next as the Night Noodle Markets are also coming to you from Nov 9 – Nov 26.
