The world is going gaga over this dramatic Turkish chef

This knife-wielding chef's sensual salting of meaty cuts has the world in a lather.

is the co-owner of a steakhouse in Istanbul. But that’s not why millions across the globe are avidly watching his moves.

He is also the subject of a number of videos in which he slices and dramatically seasons different cuts of meat in a fashion that can only be described as sensual.

A flick of the knife, twists of the fingers, a flourish of salt from a few metres in the air and you’ve got the reason #saltbae's action is trending across the globe.
Gokce boasts a cool 1.1 million Instagram followers and has enjoyed a certain level of notoriety in Turkey for a while.

Though the origins of his boost to Internet fame this week are unclear, it’s safe to say that Gokce has tickled the fancy of many a (assumedly carnivorous) viewer - particularly those on Twitter.

An image of Gokce sprinkling a delightfully large handful of salt onto a giant steak has become a meme that's proving hugely popular.

His own  is filled with strangely sensuous videos, including a clip in which with a roast, and a lot of shots of him in elegant suits. His meat cooking and slicing videos get as many as 3 million views.
He's even prompted the question, what if Salt Bae was Australian:
