A refugee detained on Manus Island has been granted asylum in Switzerland, months after receiving a human rights award in the country.


Abdul Aziz Adam spoke to us from Geneva where he was granted asylum after spending six year in Manus Island. In February, the Sudanese refugee accepted a in Geneva, Switzerland.

He said he is so happy to have been free after six years but said his happiness will not be complete until the other detainees know their destiny as well.
