Will Australia be able to revive its economy in the future if there is a downturn in the international market? What are the opportunities to expand trade and investment with India or Bangladesh? Dr Mita Bhattacharya, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics, Monash University spoke to SBS Bangla about all this.

The whole world has come to a standstill due to the epidemic of COVID-19. There is stagnation in trade and commerce. The border is closed. Import-export trade has declined. Australia's economy is going through a recession. Australia has a tacit trade dispute with a country in Asia. In this regard, there is a need to expand Australia's core business with the few countries in the world or find new markets.
