Durga Puja begins with great enthusiasm

The Bengali Hindu community across Australia is celebrating their largest religious event Durga Puja with great enthusiasm. Raj Dutta speaks to SBS Bangla about the experience of celebrating Durga Puja on the foreign land.


Raj Dutta, a prominent Hindu community member, believes that the interests of Durga Puja festival in Australia is increasing. Public participation has also increased.

"Music artists and artisans are coming from the native country, which has encouraged Puja celebration even more."

"Such religious festivals are important for every community for the interest of social cohesion of  Australia's multicultural society."
