"Muslim fashion featured in a unique way in Modest Fashion Runway"

Miss South Asia Australia's first runner-up Bangladeshi model Shajuti Islam took part in the event of 'Modest Fashion Runway' recently held at Melbourne Fashion Week. She speaks to SBS Bangla about this event.


Ms Shajuty says "It was a proud moment for me for being able to represent my country in front of all the designers, models and audience."

Addressing modest way of clothing for Muslim women she says, "The key point of this event was portraying Muslim fashion, such as hijab, fully covered and loose dresses. There's a scope to be fashionable in that way."

In her reply to a question on whether multiculturalism is surfaced in this event she says, "I found people from all background participated here. Every culture was portrayed in a positive way."

"Since modeling is my hobby, I'd like to keep working on it".
