How Chinese parents discipline their children

A group of Asian Australian students started an online community called Subtle Asian Traits (SAT) to share humour and memes about their experiences as first-gen migrants. Now it has almost two million followers around the world.

The private member group and its followers usually discuss quintessentially Asian topics such as bubble tea and tiger mums (no explanations needed). They’ve now partnered with SBS Chinese to reveal their inside jokes and reflections on the complicated experience of ‘not quite fitting in’ a country they call home.
