Several thousand Australians with severe forms of leukaemia will now have access to a life saving treatment after the inclusion of a new drug to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, dramatically cutting the cost. Ms Song Danzi, the PhD candidate of Biomolecular Engineering from Melbourne University, says many Australian patients are benefited by PBS as cancer drugs are extremely expensive due to long term experiments and researches.
