故事的开头是一个浪漫的跨国恋情,2017年在北京做公关工作的Sherry因为一段网恋,来到了大洋彼岸的澳大利亚。这时她的丈夫,一个在堪培拉长大的澳洲华人小伙子Max刚刚跟家人盘下了Redbrow Garden。

拥有农场的日子,尤其是全家以此为生的经营,并不全是诗情画意,远方和理想。Sherry说,“采菊东篱下,悠然见南山”的生活,对于在城市里住惯的一家人来说也充满了各种挑战。
