“I am the disabled mother of 7 children, and my life has not been easy all along.”

Disabled on both legs and one arm, Nyandoor Ajak is the mother of 7, with the youngest child being six months old. Nyadoor was disabled at birth. She was supported by her mother, who died in 2021, and an older sister who remained in her life.

Displaced by a flood from her village in 2020, Nyandoor has yet to better shelter for herself and her children. One of the challenges that Nyandor talked about is not providing her children with basic needs like food. In addition, none of the children goes to school because they cannot afford to pay school fees. Nyandor must be cared for by her 14 years old daughter, who is taking the responsibilities of an adult.
