Suob or steam inhalation is commonly used by Filipinos as a remedy for nasal congestion and respiratory infections. Do GPs recommend this? Find out from Specialist GP, Angelica Logarta-Scott.

KEY POINTS
  • According to Scott, although suob is not a cure, it can help ease the symptoms of a cold.
  • If you choose to do suob, make sure it is done safely to avoid burns. Combine it with adequate rest, proper hydration, and consult a doctor for appropriate advice.
  • Aside from steam inhalation, Scott says there are safe and effective ways to relieve the symptoms of nasal congestion.
