Climate whiplash. This is how climate research describes the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events that swept across the Earth in 2024. According to scientists, average global temperatures will temporarily be 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels over the course of this year. Climate change caused by humans is the most important factor.
