Recent and soon-to-be graduates are at the core of the program, having been selected to participate based on their interest for maintaining the language.

As the program coordinator, VCE teacher Mr. Christos Raspa, explains, the initiative aims “to  educate young people in our community, in order to equip them with pedagogical tools to allow them to continue teaching the Greek language and culture to the next generations. ”

“All these children will bring their fresh ideas and passion to our classrooms, while at the same time, they will function as role models for the students,” said the Principal of the Greek Community Schools, Mrs. Maria Bakalidou.

Participants had their inaugural meeting online with the next meeting expected to take place on Tuesday 1 February at Melbourne’s Greek Centre.
