The St Sophia Cathedral reopens in Sydney

The old Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Sydney, that of St Sophia in Paddington, is reopening after recent renovation works.

The Board of Directors of the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales and the Church Committee in announcement this week said that from Sunday 27th September 2020, the St. Sophia Cathedral will reopen at South Dowling & Napier Streets, Paddington.

“The Cathedral had remained closed for a long time due to the renovation works of the building inside and outside as well as the surrounding areas”, said the announcement.

The Board of Directors of the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales warmly thanks everyone who contributed to the costly renovation of the Cathedral.
