Information broadcasted this week by the ABC suggested that a Greek Orthodox church in Melbourne’s north west had allegedly breached coronavirus restrictions.

But the parish priest, in an SBS Greek exclusive interview, said that the funeral at the centre of the allegations was conducted “in compliance with all required measures”.

Dozens of mourners had reportedly gathered for the occasion, but not within the perimeter of the church.

“We asked them to leave[…] unfortunately there was nothing more we could do to stop it.”
