The Greek-Australian mayor of a Sydney suburb asks people to respect the restrictions

Sydney’s Waverley Council has recorded so far the most cases of coronavirus, compare to the other Local Government Authorities in NSW.


Waverly Council includes the suburbs of Bondi, Bronte, Tamarama and Vaucluse and till the latest count had 105 cases. There are all attraction sites for many overseas tourists as well as residents from other Sydney suburbs.
The Mayor, Ms Paula Masselos acknowledging how serious the situation is issued her own message to the municipality stressing than “we need to be more vigilant than ever in following social distancing”.

“I am appealing to the community to take ownership of their health and respect the restrictions we have in place”, says Ms Masselos, asking the people to “continue to respect our lifeguards and rangers who are working hard to keep the community safe”.
