ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયા ડે એમ્બેસેડર ગીતિ હાઉસ OAM વિવિધ ભાષા અને સંસ્કૃતિની જાળવણી માટે કાર્યરત છે

ગિતી હાઉસ ગુજરાતી માતા તથા બિન-ગુજરાતી પિતાના સંતાન છે. દાયકાઓ થી ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયામાં સ્થાયી થયેલા ગીતિ વર્ષોથી માતાની માતૃભાષા ગુજરાતી સાથે જોડાયેલા રહેવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરતા આવ્યા છે. પોતાના સંઘર્ષથી પ્રેરાઈને હવે તેઓ ટુવુમ્બામાં આવેલી બહુસાંસ્કૃતિક સોસાયટીના પ્રમુખ તરીકે અન્ય ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયન્સને પોતાના પારિવારિક મૂળ તથા ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયન ઓળખ વચ્ચે તાલમેલ બેસાડવામાં મદદ કરે છે.

In 2017, Gitie was awarded the Medal of Order of Australia for her services to the community. Gitie was named Multicultural Ambassador for Queensland in 2013 and received many awards including the WILPF Peacewoman, YWCA 125 Leading Women in Queensland and the United Nations Zonta Woman of the Year. Under Gitie’s leadership, the Toowoomba Languages & Cultures Festival is one of the signature multicultural events of Queensland and both TIMS and the festival have won Australia Day awards. Over 70 cultures are represented at this program which attracts over 22,000 people in a one-day annual event.
