19-year-old Indian international student Jaspreet Singh was serving on a night shift at 7Eleven convenience store located at petrol station in Melbourne’s south-east when he was attacked by three masked armed bandits on early Tuesday morning, 9News reported.

Terrified Singh locked himself behind the counter as three men broke open the glass door and demanded cash.

‘I was scared and just entered the counter room,” Singh told 9News.

The armed bandits stole cash, cigarettes and damaged goods in the shop before a customer who was filling up petrol outside came to Singh’s rescue.

The tradie chased the three bandits on foot before they ran away and stayed with Singh till the police arrived. He also picked up stolen cigarette packets and returned it to the shop.

“He is a nice guy. He tried to save me,” he said.
