Alleged fake doctor Shyam Acharya convicted and fined

A report has claimed that alleged fake doctor Shyam Acharya lived with the real Dr. Sarang Chitale for two years in India. Dr. Chitale then threw him out and broke ties, the report has claimed.

Alleged fake doctor, Shyam Acharya has been found guilty and fined $30,000, the maximum penalty available, in his absence for the "blatant" misrepresentation.

Shyam Acharya is alleged to have worked in NSW for more than a decade using a stolen identity.

He left Australia after being served with a court attendance notice in January.

On Monday, reported, he was found guilty of falsely claiming he was authorised to work in the health system from July 21, 2016 to September 24, 2016, when he worked for a medical research company, Novotech.

He was fined in absence at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Monday, where magistrate Jennifer Atkinson found the offense was of the most serious level and warranted the maximum penalty of a $30,000 fine. 

Magistrate also noted that before the research job, Acharya had worked in NSW hospitals for more than a decade.

She also ordered Acharya pay the prosecution costs of more than $22,000, reported.

Dr. Sarang Chitale and alleged fake doctor Shyam Acharya lived together in Pune, claims report

On Monday, revealed that Shyam Acharya was friends with Dr. Sarang Chitale in Pune, India and lived in his house before Dr. Chitale broke ties with him.

The report states Acharya lived with Chitale in later’s house from 1998 till 2000 before Chitale discovered that Acharya had cheated him.

Dr. Chitale’s father, Prakash Chitale told , “ ..my son came to know that Acharya has cheated him. He used his name to withdraw cash from the bank. He siphoned off a lot of money from my son’s account ... I am surprised that he had forged his signature too.

“After this, in 2000, my son throws him out and breaks contact with him.

“I don’t think after that they ever talked.”

Australian authorities are trying to track down Acharya.
