Mother-daughter found dead in Melbourne

A neighbour said the couple lived on the street since four years. While husband was an Indian, his wife was from Nepal, he claimed.

A 39-year-old mother believed to be a Nepalese woman and her 3-year-old daughter were found dead at their home in Melbourne’s Pascow Vale suburb on Sunday.

Their bodies were discovered when the woman’s husband arrived home on Sunday afternoon around 5 pm.

A neighbour, Mohammed Assaad who saw the husband screaming outside the house told , ‘He was just screaming and crying, couldn’t really understand what he was saying.”

Mr Assaad said the husband was an Indian and the couple had lived in the neighbourhood for over four years.

He described the toddler girl as a ‘happy and active child’.

Saturday’s event have sent the whole street into shock.

 “You just wouldn’t expect something like this from that household, they were a friendly family,” Mr Assad said.

“The exact cause of the deaths are yet to be determined but police are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident at this stage,” a police spokeswoman .

The pair is yet to be formally identified.

Crime Investigation Unit detectives are preparing a report for the coroner.
