New Zealand is offering ‘career trip of a lifetime’.

Looking for the best tech talent in the world to come to Wellington and work, New Zealand government along with Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency, Workhere New Zealand and NZTech have come up with the program, where they are willing to pay for flights and accommodation for job seekers who attend this four day job event.

This opportunity is being provided to 100 job applicants who can attend this event taking place in May.

Besides paying for their flights and accommodation, Jobseekers are being offered prearranged job interviews, meet-ups and exploration opportunities from May 8th till 11th.

Those interested will have to send their resumes first and must make it to the shortlist before the organisers offer them this trip.

“At the end of the week there’ll be offers to jobs you never knew existed in a place with a lifestyle you never thought possible,” the LookSee Wellington says.

“Wellington is the South Pacific’s tech and innovation capital, bubbling with innovative tech companies developing leading edge solutions and exporting them to the world. Our tech industry is flying along and we need more people.”

Once there, the “Lookseers” are required to meet all employers that expressed an interest and to “genuinely assess what they offer as a potential employer”.

“There will be a small number of other events that we would strongly recommend you attend as they are designed to help you find out important information about immigration, relocation and settlement in Wellington,” the website says.

“And then there’ll be social and optional events that we’d encourage you to participate in to make the most of your time in the city and to get a feel for what it’d be like to live here. But there’ll also be plenty of time to roam and do your own thing — we want you to have a genuine ‘looksee’ for yourself.”

Other companies too have gone to great lengths to attract the talents they need.

In 2013, Tourism Australia announced a campaign ‘’ where a six month contract for $100,000 including living expenses was offered.

Before that, in 2009, Tourism Australia came up with 'The best job in the world' to promote Queensland, in which Ben Southall won the high-paying job as a caretaker of a tropical island in The Great Barrier Reef.
