Prabha Kumar murder: Australian Police suspect tampering of evidence

Australian Police is in Bengaluru, India to speak to Prabha Kumar’s family which includes her husband Arun Kumar.

Australian Police who is in India to investigate Prabha Kumar’s murder are trying to find out if someone related to her tampered with the evidence, reports.

41-year-old Prabha Kumar was returning home on Saturday night, March 7th 2015 when she was attacked and stabbed in Parramatta Park, Sydney.

Ms Kumar lived alone in Sydney while her husband, Arun Kumar lived in Bengaluru, India with their daughter.

NSW Police detectives are in India, to speak to Prabha Kumar’s husband G Arun Kumar and her family who live in Bengaluru.

Police earlier said that Prabha Kumar’s murder was not a random act and in March 2016 had revealed that detectives were investigating if someone from her .

Indian police officials who spoke to said that Prabha’s family have told the Australian investigators that she was looking to return to India in April 2015 to live with her young daughter. They also told the Australian Police that Prabha was reportedly saving money to buy property in her daughter’s name.

The police is believed to have spoken to Prabha’s family as well as her husband Arun Kumar.

The newspaper report cites sources who have revealed that the Australian Police have gathered evidence that suggests that someone tried to tamper with the evidence after the murder.

“There seems to be some concrete evidence with which they are working,’’ a police source is quoted saying.

It is understood that the investigators are working on the call details of multiple people who were in regular contact with the victim.
