How do young Italian migrants feel about the country they have left behind? Do they miss it or are they happy where they are? These questions are at the core of Dear Italy, a video in which people who are trying their luck down under are offered the chance to send a message to their country of origin. The tone ranges from nostalgia and sorrow to reproach and anger, but a common thread emerges from very different experiences.

Photographer and journalist Ada Francesca Rizzoli takes us on a touching and revealing journey, with a sensitivity which draws from the experience of her family and her own experience of multiple migrations, from Chile to Italy and now to Australia.

What would you like to say to your home country?
