Labor MP calls for partner visa surge during Australia's coronavirus recovery

Labor MP Julian Hill says the federal government should start clearing Australia's backlog of partner visa applications.

The  continues, with a Labor MP calling for a large increase in the number of partner visas issued once the country reopens.

Backbencher Julian Hill told SBS News the federal government should address the estimated backlog of up to 100,000 applications as the pandemic eases for both economic and ethical reasons.
