  • Prime Minister Scott Morrison has urged Indonesia to show "great respect for Australia" in how it manages the expected prison release of the alleged Bali bombing mastermind. Abu Bakar Bashir (81), the spiritual leader of Islamist group Jemaah Islamiah, is set to be granted early release from jail on humanitarian grounds.
  • A man accused of killing international student Aiia Maasarwe has returned to court for a brief hearing. Codey Herrmann(20) didn't speak throughout the brief hearing.
  • Charity organisation Oxfam is calling for tax reforms to close the growing gap between rich and poor.
  • New research published by Oxfam Australia says the country's billionaires saw their combined wealth grow by $100 million a day last year.
