Jimmy Carter, 39th US president, dies aged 100

Former United States President Jimmy Carter has died aged 100 at his home in Plains, Georgia. President Carter served a single term in the White House from January 1977 to January 1981. During that time, he helped negotiate the landmark Camp David peace accord between Israel and Egypt and reached nuclear arms treaties with the former Soviet Union.
