Kurdish Opera singer dedicates new album to Halabja victims

Pervin chakar, Kurdish Opera singer,

Kurdish soprano Pervin Chakar has commemorated the Halabja massacre in Iraq with an album consisting of poems of one of the great poets Sherko Bekas. The album was released on YouTube on March 16, on the 35th anniversary of the day when 5,000 people lost their lives as a result of a chemical attack ordered by Saddam Hussein on the town of Halabja.
