Every year, Victoria Government celebrates the contributions of women in the state through its Victorian Honour Roll of Women Program. Lalisha Thapa from Melbourne was among the 22 new inductees present at a ceremony in the Arts Centre Melbourne on Wednesday, 11 October. Thapa was honoured for her contribution to Nepali society as the Vice President of the Nepalese Association of Victoria (NAV), and the founder of NAV's Women Forum. The 'local champion' spoke to SBS Nepali about her work in women empowerment, and hopes of inspiring others through her journey.
