International Nepali Topi Day: Inspiring Nepalis worldwide to embrace national headwear

On January 1, Nepalis not only celebrate the new year but also commemorate the day as International Nepali Topi Day. Shankar Banjade, one of the campaigners talked to SBS Nepali about the concept behind initiating this campaign. He emphasises that donning this traditional headgear for even a day reminds Nepalis of its significance as an integral part of their society and national identity.
