Shakuntala Pradhan is a pioneering classical musician and professor from Dharan, Nepal, One of the first-generation women to sing on Radio Nepal, Pradhan studied classical music in Baroda, India. Pradhan spoke to SBS Nepali on the challenges faced by women classical musicians of her time and discussed the state of classical music in academia.
