Australia has one of the biggest immigration programs in the world

Australia's migration program requires that no less than two thirds of permanent visas granted to live and work in Australia be granted to skilled migrants.

Australia has one of the biggest immigration programs in the world with 160,000 places kept every year for permanent migrants. A large part of the program, nearly 70 percent is reserved for skilled migrants who bring the in demand skills to meet the needs of the Australian economy.

In the 2019-20 year, the cap on Australia's annual migration intake has been reduced from 190,000 to 160,000, with skilled migration accounting for approximately 70 percent.
