Here is PM Turnbull's Diwali message for the Indian community

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has wished the entire Australian Indian community a very Happy Diwali, saying, "As communities across Australia gather to celebrate the festival of lights, I wish you a joyous Diwali and prosperous year ahead"

In his special Diwali message PM Turnbull said, "Diwali is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge our great fortune to live in a land of peace and tolerance where diversity is valued and celebrated."

He went on to add that Australia is "the most successful multicultural nation on earth," which "shines brightly as a beacon", in a world ravaged by divisions and conflict.
