A number of websites are masquerading as the government of India’s websites purporting to offer online Indian visitor visas to travelers, said the Consulate General of India in a statement.

“A number of fake visa websites are operating on the internet, claiming to provide e-Tourist Visa services to visa applicants desiring to travel to India. In order to mislead applicants, some of these websites have created images and home page templates like the Government of India websites,” said the CGI in a statement.

The correct Government of India website for e-Tourist Visa for India is indianvisaonline.gov.in.

The CGI cautioned all aspiring Indian visa applicants wishing to travel to India on e-Tourist visa against dealing with the following websites

The CGI said these websites do not belong to the Government of India.
