High cholesterol is one of the major causes of cardiovascular disease in Australia and the world. As part of 'Cholesterol Awareness Week', we had a talanoa with the CEO of Heart Support Australia, Dr Christian Verdicchio, on the importance of testing and monitoring your cholesterol levels.

Dr Christian Verdicchio says that for some people, there may be hereditary factors impacting their cholesterol levels, and diet and exercise may not be enough to control their cholesterol levels.

He advises that there are now excellent drug therapies to control cholesterol levels.
