“A ritual of burning effigy of demon king Ravana which represents the victory of good over evil. 'Ravana Dahan' commemorates the day when Lord Rama killed Ravana, as written in epic 'Ramayana',” says the Facebook page of Indian Society of Western Australia. This is not acceptable to Tamils living in Western Australia.

Kulasegaram Sanchayan brings the story with comments from Surya Ambati, President of ISWA, Claremont Mayor’s office, Annamalai Mahizhnan, Baskar Sathiyamoorthy, Sashikumar Prabakaran, and Nimal Kumar.
