Thiruvalluvar Statue Unveiled: A Monument of Heritage Sparks Controversy

A statue of Thiruvalluvar was installed in Pendle Hill Civic Park in Sydney on Thursday, 23 May. However, the manner in which the statue was unveiled, and its current condition have been criticised by some. Participating in the program discussing this controversy are Dr. Chandrika Subramaniyan of the Tamil Development Forum, Mr. Anaganbabu, Secretary of the Tamil Arts and Culture Association, Lord Mayor Lisa Lake of Cumberland City Council, and Wentworthville Ward Councillor Suman Saha.
