‘Tun’ Samy Vellu’s contribution in educating Tamils in Malaysia will go down in history – ‘Dato’ Subramaniam

Tun Samy Vellu (8 March 1936 – 15 September 2022) was a Malaysian politician who served as a Minister in the Malaysian Government for over 29 years. He was a member and served as 7th President of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC). He is the longest-serving MIC president by holding the position for 31 years.


Dato Sri Dr. S. Subramaniam has served as the Acting Chairman of MIC and the Minister of Health in the Malaysian Cabinet. Dr Subramaniam who has worked closely with Tun Samy Vellu remembers his life with Kulasegaram Sanchayan.
