Born in Sri Lanka and educated in India and the United Kingdom, Raj Rajaratnam went to the United States to do his Master’s in Business Administration. The Hedge Fund firm he started gave him the financial success and gave him a position in Forbes’s list of “The 400 wealthiest Americans.”

He was arrested by the FBI in 2009 for insider trading.  He is now a free man, after serving over seven years.

Raj Rajaratnam talks openly with Kulasegaram Sanchayan about his legal battle and the experiences he has gained.  This is the first of the two-part interview.
