The Government of India announced a plan at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore (260 million Australian Dollars) in 2013. Kulasegaram Sanchayan talked to Prof. G. Rajasekaran, one of the founders of this project, to find out more on the purpose of this project, what benefits this project may bring to an average taxpayer, what is a neutrino, and what the India based Neutrino Observatory is trying to achieve.
