Minister for Foreign Affairs: Australian assistance for Thailand cave search

"The Australian Government is assisting the Government of Thailand’s efforts to locate a group of 13 people who are missing, believed trapped in a flooded cave system in Chiang Rai."

On 30 June 2018, a joint media release was published on Minister for Foreign Affairs, The Hon Julie Biship MP's website, headlined "Australian assistance for Thailand cave search".

It outlines the assistance provided by the Australian Government to the Government of Thailand and the Royal Thai Army—who are leading a search operation to find a soccer team of 12 boys aged between 11-16 and their 25-year old coach, believed trapped inside a flooded cave system in Chiang Rai Province in the northernmost region of Thailand.
