The ACT has recorded three new cases of coronavirus, which will likely delay the timing of eased restrictions as planned later this week.

Three new cases of coronavirus have been found in the ACT, breaking Canberra's month-long bill of health.

The infections are all from the same household and linked to the Victorian outbreak.
Chief Minister Andrew Barr signalled a slowdown in easing restrictions, which was planned for later this week.

"Given the news today ... [This is] likely to be postponed, until we have a better understanding of the Victorian outbreak and the impact on the ACT," he said.

"In simple terms, we can not put the hard work of the community at risk by going too far too fast."
Australia has recorded 8,886 cases in total, with 1,293 active cases and 7,487 people recovered.

The national death toll is 106.

Residents in affected public housing towers who need access to support and assistance should call the Housing Call Centre on 1800 961 054. If you need a translator, first call 131 450. Both services are 24/7. More information can be found .

People in Australia must stay at least 1.5 metres away from others. Check your state’s restrictions on gathering limits.

If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, stay home and arrange a test by calling your doctor or contact the Coronavirus Health Information Hotline on 1800 020 080.
