Alec Baldwin returns to SNL to mock Donald Trump on solar eclipse, Bannon

Actor Alec Baldwin has spoofed US president Donald Trump on comedy show Saturday Night Live’s latest skit.

Baldwin impersonated Trump’s recent rally in Phoenix, Arizona, on the SNL Weekend Update.

Whipping off his sunglasses, he joked about the president’s blunder during this week’s eclipse – Trump had been sighted without protective sunglasses looking directly at the sun, which can cause eye damage.

“How about that eclipse, folks? A lot of people don't know this, but you can damage your eyes by looking into the eclipse. No-one predicted this. They wouldn't have. I figured it out all by myself.”
Taking a look at the audience, he chuckled: “Wow, everyone’s so white here. It’s fantastic.”

Exchanging banter with Kenan Thompson, who was playing the sole black man seen behind Trump at the rally, Baldwin said: “Because of the eclipse, I can’t tell – are you really black?” to which Thompson replied “that’s what the ad said you were looking for.”
They also poked fun at former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who was fired by Trump. A Grim Reaper impersonator came on stage and Baldwin addressed him as Bannon.

“One person who's done so much for us is Steve Bannon - I wanted to give him a proper goodbye.

“Steve, you look great, sorry to see you go. Steve is going onto Breitbart. He'll be fighting the good fight against globalist cucks like my son-in-law, Jared,” he said, to titters from the audience.
