SBS World News Radio: The resettlement of detainees from Australia's offshore camp on Papua New Guinea's Manus Island was among the issues that arose during Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's official visit to New Zealand.

The Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is on an official visit to New Zealand where he has held talks with his counterpart Bill English.

They have used the occasion to discuss a range of issues and reinforce the long-standing relationship between the two countries.

But it was in the area of immigration policy that differences arose.

SBS political reporter Myles Morgan is in New Zealand.

He is speaking with Peggy Giakoumelos about Mr Turnbull's visit.
