A Matthew Wade whirlwind has powered the Hobart Hurricanes to a record-equalling 10-wicket win against the Adelaide Strikers in Monday night's Big Bash League game.
The Hurricanes became just the second BBL team to notch a 10-wicket win, cruising to their 155-run target with 19 balls to spare at Adelaide Oval.
Perth Scorchers are the BBL's only other side to achieve the feat - against the Melbourne Renegades in December 2015.
Hobart's Wade smacked 84 from 49 deliveries and D'Arcy Short made 73 from 52 as the Hurricanes emphatically stretched their lead atop the ladder.
They finished 0-158, banking an eighth win from nine games and putting a six-point gap between them and second spot.
"A lot of the time I'm the one taking the back seat and letting (Short) do his thing in the first six overs and he did that tonight for me," Wade said.
"That is a massive part of opening the batting together. If you can change your game a little bit depending on how the guy at the other end is going, it makes a big difference and we did that tonight."
Wade and Short ruthlessly chased down Adelaide's 5-154 which was highlighted by captain Colin Ingram's 67 not out from 36 balls.
Wade reached his half-century from just 32 balls and the openers recorded their a 100-run stand from only 12 overs.
He smacked eight fours and three sixes while Short was more circumspect before finishing with a flourish and hitting eight fours and two sixes.
Earlier, Adelaide's Ingram gave his side's innings impetus with a sparkling knock as the rest of his teammates struggled against the Hurricanes' wily bowlers.
Hobart's Jofra Archer took 2-22, James Faulkner claimed 2-24 and James Meredith finished with 1-39 after Ingram hit four fours and a six from his last over.
Adelaide (eight points) remain in a mid-table jam: while they're only two points adrift of second spot, they're also just points ahead of last place.
"The next couple of games pose a great opportunity to get some points and put ourselves back in the mix," Ingram said.
"It's still lots to play for - win the next two games ... and that leapfrogs you right back up so all to play for," he said.
