Pop star Justin Bieber left his teens behind with a low-key family party to celebrate his 20th birthday on Saturday.

The Candadian singer has been keeping a low-profile in recent weeks after months of headline-grabbing antics ended in his arrest in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence. He is also facing charges relating to the alleged assault of a chauffeur in Canada.

Bieber has moved away from Los Angeles to a rented home in Atlanta, Georgia, while he tries to rebuild his reputation, and decided to forgo a wild birthday party - instead opting for a small gathering at his new property.

Pictures uploaded on Twitter show the singer blowing out candles on a modest cake, featuring the words 'Happy Birthday Bizzle'.

Bieber recently adopted the name 'Bizzle' and even changed his user identity on Instagram to feature the new moniker.

His father Jeremy and his siblings Jazmyn and Jaxon attended the party with his dad tweeting, "Happy Birthday son. Wow 20!"

Bieber also tweeted his thanks to fans for their birthday messages.

"Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes. Means a lot. Blessed and hoping we can continue to change the world together."
