Chairs were used as weapons and punches thrown during a brawl in a restaurant at Sydney's Bond Junction.

Police say Saturday night's fight at the Oxford Street premises involved about 10 people.

"Punches were thrown during the incident, with some of the people using restaurant chairs as weapons," a police statement said.

When officers arrived most of the people involved had left and a few arrested nearby were later released pending further inquiries.
