* Peter Dutton has come under fire for attacking his Labor opponent Ali France for not living in the electorate. France had a leg amputated after a car accident in 2011 and hasn't been able to find a wheelchair-accessible home in the Brisbane seat of Dickson.

* Australia is providing consular assistance to Julian Assange after he was arrested at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

* Rugby Australia has vowed to terminate Israel Folau's multi-million-dollar contract unless he can explain his latest social media attack on homosexuals, while the NRL has ruled out welcoming him back to the code.
