Debt claims against One Nation candidate

One Nation's Longman candidate Matthew Stephen insists he doesn't owe anyone money but several subcontractors claim otherwise regarding his former company.

WHAT MATTHEW STEPHEN SAYS:

"I do not owe anybody any money whatsoever. If there is anybody in this country who feels that I owe the money or has a claim for me or against me please send it through."

WHAT THE TRADIES CLAIM:

GOLD COAST SUBCONTRACTOR MATTHEW YOUNG

* Owed about $6500 from a 2014 project in Darwin. His brother and five or six others collectively owed about $50,000.

BUNDABERG TILER DALE MOORE

* Owed $4225 for four months' work on the Darwin job. Contacted Mr Stephen twice monthly for three years before he threatened to sue for harassment.

BRISBANE TILER ONZI GIBSON

* Owed $5,777 for Darwin project. Told in 2016 he'd have the money in four weeks but no contact since.

BRISBANE TILER PERRINE VAN DE PLASSE

* Paid for Darwin but owed $2000 from a 2016 project and $500 reimbursement for tools.

DARWIN BUILDER PHILLIP HOARE

* His company owed almost $12,000 after a Northern Territory court ordered Mr Stephen's company, Aus Tile Qld Pty Ltd, to pay for breach of contract.

LANDLORD STAVROS MOSTRIS

* Estimates he's owed thousands in unpaid rent.

DARWIN TILER NICK FULLERTON

* Underpaid on three jobs.
